Ok, no so easy job...

On my 0634 case, I used the Dremel + metal polish paste to do the mirror polish on the edges and the face.
The resulte is good but I find that is not so shinny as the original mirror polish, what is the trick ?

Probably finer paste than you are using, you might be putting small marks in the metal if your paste is coarse.

:bang: Maybe... Please, which paste is adapted for the mirror polish on stainless steel?

Wet dry prep:

400 grit
800 grit
1000 grit

Paste:

Red jewellers Rouge.
WEENOL metal polish on clean dremel felt buffing wheel.

Clean case with lacquer thinner unless rubber or plastic parts still installed, then use soap and water.

Hello,

I received today the Wenol paste from Thaïland and I tried it directly with my Dremel, the result is amazing, thank for the trick.

By renovating my Seiko, I think more and more that the quality of finish of series 06 is identical to that of Grand Seiko !

Thanks for the polishing tips, I could certainly add more of a polished finish to my 5019 model bezel...Also excellent restoration work on the 5009, simply amazing work, hard to believe it's the same timepiece!

Acquired a 0674-5009 that was listed as not working, case was really scuffed up and the crystal had deep scratches. Fortunately the module was nicely protected by the rubber gasket. Pictures show the details. Module actually worked. Either the seller didn't check or when the battery was installed some of the segments didn't display properly. I've noticed in these modules when powering up the LCD segments randomly display. After cycling through the time settings it gets normalized. Sanded down the crystal to remove the deep grooves and scratches using a 1000 grit sandpaper then followed through with glass polish. It's a really nice LCD Seiko watch as I like the models with the front buttons.
