A Spaceman in need of TLC.

Post09 May 2020, 23:43

Hi!
I took a detour from my LEDs, Jump hours and LCDs and took a punt on an unsigned (possibly Catena) Spaceman watch. It works fine, but is very stiff, when setting the time. Has anyone popped the glass off and taken a look inside? Is the crystal held down by a screw thread, because it has no notches or slots.

I figured it out. There is nothing more complicated than carefully prizing off the ring with a wide flat blade. It helps to alternate each side to lift off the ring while keeping it parallel to the dial. The crystal was a little tough to lift off too, because there is a rubber ring which had become a bit gluey :grin1: Now to get the lume replaced and the movement running better!
