The standard band is 8". Hamilton is now doing sizing, mine is 8.25" so one extra link in the weight, but I imagine that would only be a gram or two extra.

Curious how much each link weights. I have a small wrist, so if I could get the weight down to~100 grams...

Did a rough calculation. Volume is a little hard to calculate as it isn't a regular solid, but should be pretty close.
Around 2.5gms per link, so 100gms would be 37/2.5 = 15 links * .25 long each link = 3.7 inches for a measurement of 8.25 - 3.7 = 4.5 inches.
Bottom line, you aren't going to get down to 100gms by removing links. You would be looking at a band replacement.

I'm also thinking of placing an order for the Stainless Steel Model but waiting for a reply from Hamilton. I asked a simple question about two weeks ago with no reply, wanted to know about battery life and if its replaceable by any jeweller or if it needs to go back to Hamilton for battery replacement.

The Hamilton site has great photos and the watch looks fantastic. The limited specks are great so far. Wish they included a proper PDF of the instruction manual so we can see if it also includes a Date function etc.

Can't wait for user reviews :)

No date, the single button illuminates on short push, seconds on long push.

I wonder why they didn't incorporate the date button and function. Perhaps they wanted to preserve the original Pulsar P2 release.

That is most likely the case. I never owned a Pulsar (my only LED watch was/is the Synchronar). The time setting sequence with only one button is a little complicated but not too bad once you get used to it. I will need to check the accuracy of the watch over time and see how it compares to my Ventura.

Is the button magnetic or a physical button? Would have been cool if they preserved the magnetic reed switches as well and provided a hidden magnet in the watch band.

It is a physical button. It has quite a long throw, so it is quite possibly used to activate a reed switch internally (like the Synchronar uses).

Thank you for sharing your experience with it! I'm sure someone will eventually document the internal module and its mechanical or magnetic operation properties. Keep the watch images coming!

That's crazy, as the Gold prs do not have a official shipping date yet. And they are still avalible to pre order. Not quite sure what's the point in his listing.

I was just curious what PSR stood for and doing a quick google I discovered that it is an acronym (PSR = Pulsating Source of Radio) and it is what astronomers use to name Pulsars, "a highly magnetized rotating neutron star (Wikipedia)" . The first Pulsar was named PSR B1257+12, just a little fun fact. So looks like Hamilton use this term to refer to the original company name of Pulsar but rather give it the same logo it used Hamilton to differentiate it from the vintage models and support its brand recognition and used the release date to call it PSR 2020.

interesting....

the seller pulled the eBay listing citing an error in the listing and was never relisted.

Hamilton didn't have a choice to use a name other than Pulsar, as Seiko bought the brand name quite some time ago.

Dang, you're absolutely right...I should have known this... explains why their last digital LCD was called Pulsomatic.
