WTB: Strap for Seiko Timetron (SCFP007)

Post30 Nov 2006, 01:42

I have a dark grey Seiko Timetron model SCFP007 (case L251-4000)
and I need a replacement strap for it.
Seiko US Cust. Serv. claimsit only comes in white.

Any suggestions?

That is weird - I have the dark grey one too and the band is dark grey to match. White would just kill the look completely!

Curious, how did you kill the band - it seems pretty sturdy?

Yeah it's weird. The white one is the SCFP005 and the off-white one is the SCFP001. They wouldn't go well with the grey one.

I called Seiko again yesterday and the person was nicer this time. She said the grey one is on back-order but only a jeweler can order it.
She added that very few jewelers are willing to order parts on back-order.
So basically I'm screwed. I don't understand why I can't place the order myself. It's just a stupid rubber watch strap!!

The straps are pretty solid but after years of direct sunlight, mine developed invisible cracks and broke at 2 different places.
