Feedback fishing

Post24 Dec 2006, 18:26

Am I the only one annoyed by sellers sending me emails requesting my positive feedback before they give mine? Sometimes even before the items id delivered? This seems common practice amoung people selling stuff like spring bars and tools.

Short answer: ignore them.

Long answer:
I'm thinking it's ridiculous for a buyer to give feedback first; realistically, the seller gets paid first, they should give their feedback first. A buyer should give their's only after they receive the item and have checked it out, and/or settled any differences with the seller. The ebay/PAyPal dispute system will use positive feedback you leave against you - don't gush prematurely unless it was an "as is" item.

Dead right. Don't ever leave positive feedback as a buyer until you have the item in your hand and you're pleased/satisfied with it. Invalidates the whole system otherwise.

Many sellers wait for a positive from the buyer before returning one in order to protect themselves from low feedback bidders who are a bit trigger happy with the negative button.

15 minutes to Christmas (unless you live in Denmark in which case the fun is already over - dammit!).
