No I did not get one cent of my 2 brothers auctions or the second chance offer you jumped at.And no I deffinetly do not trust you.You did not get modules with tap in points already there, except the one to use as a guide to tap into the others, so stop telling whoppers like that. You are as it turns out the prime example of why it would be hard to offer a kit.Yes you most certainly did bid on the second auction my brothers had and it,s visible to members to see at ebay if they click on the bidders list of my brothers. You narrowly LOST at the end to the guy that has a rather long name. Then since you were the second highest bidder you were sent a second chance offer(according to what they tell me)and that is what really happened.I do have a different goal than just selling everything like they want. You tell people here I don,t offer any help and then according to one brother you emailed him that I tell too much about the watch?? and people want it to remain a mystery. Which is it Ed too much or to little?

Howard, you are replaying history that is right on this site - yes, I bid on their first ebay auction, felt it ended weird, and didn't bid on the second. Then I was called for the second chance offer after your brothers heard I had commented HERE that it ended kind of weird. So my version is quite straight. What I have suggested to both you and your brothers is: quit trying to nail down the "first issue", because it turns off most people who are on the other side of the issue - leave it a pleasant little mystery that we(NOT YOU) can talk about for years. See, being a direct relative of the inventor of the Synchronar(and your, as one person described you to me "rottweiler on the end of a leash" approach) just makes people think you are trying to claim the "first" title for vain and controlling purposes - maybe all gentlemen so concerned should agree to disagree so we can move on in life!. So, if you want to share any information on getting the Synchronar's that are out there in the world working - great. If you just want to come here and "prove" some kind of pedigree, or abuse "US" for wanting to get our watches going or maybe even sell them and turn some honestly-earned profit, I think I speak for many when I tell you that it is a major turn-off and comes across as very unfair. YOU want to be the only capitalist and make the profit, but you want the rest of us to be share croppers? Screw that - I've invested money in YOU - I damn well am going to try to get something back on my investment! More space has been spent on this site over your "issues" than any other, making it all extremely unpleasant.

Regarding the test holes: every module you sent me had them; obviously, you were not going to send out working ones. Set some new traditions, the change will give YOU pride....history is a poor support group.

1up, you make an excellent case here, sorry to interupt the thread but Im still wondering if there are 'any' people authorised to use the Synchronar name.
Howard, please tell me who holds the trademark and name 'synchronar'. Did your father personally have rights to this name? Or was it within a company formation? After he passed away was the synchronar name officially and legally granted to you and your brothers or are you now taking it up by birthright? If this is the case, how can you prevent anyone now buying up the stock and rights to produce?

Sorry to ask so many questions, please dont answer any that you dont feel happy about.

Many thanks

Seven, your question is broadly similar to mine a few posts before to which i received no reply. But put yourself in Howards shoes, if you own the legal rights to the name, then you would say you did- but if you didnt own them and they were potentially up for grabs to the highest bidder from the Liquidator etc, would you let that information become public knowledge ? I wouldn't. I would still say i owned the rights hoping no-one would check, maybe this is why he's perceives many apparently genuine questions as attacks. little1up states that" Howard wants to be the only capitalist and make the profit" but to make a profit you have to have a product. I'd love to see the Synchronar back in production with a valid back up/warranty system in place, preferably with the Riehl family at the helm but if thats not to be i wouldn't care who produces them as long as the Synchronar watch survives in more than just name.

I understand you want to be a capitalist, you have made that very clear.I prefer just keeping it real and working with people instead of against the grain. You were more interested in posting your oppinion on the :first" topic, simply because I asked if we could talk the next day because I had some obligations to meet(going to the office and prepareing a package for someone). You somehow took offence to the fact that I had other agenda.I did not control anything, that is all in your mind.
If you want to deny the fact that you did bid on the second auction, that is fine. How did I control your failure to communicate.

Howard, I don't keep track of your brother's auctions, but I only bid on one - the one I thought ended oddly(it still had 2 days to go). Supposedly I was being offered those watches because the winner couldn't make payment - but how would anyone out here ever really know?

As far as your lack of communication with me, why would it matter to me - I have never tried to call you because your emails and posts have made it clear to me that you would rather see every Synchronar out there dead rather than have one brought to life by someone else. The money is the least of my concerns - it won't change my life.

The "first" issue: I voiced an opinion because I am familiar at doing patent searchs - a little bird told me you thought I spent a week on it  ....maybe 1.5 hours. I performed 100s of patent searchs for PAY - I know how to get from A-Z in record time. My hope was to put the prize in perspective, to open up the idea that maybe the whole thing had been worked out a good bit earlier by more than one person, but your late father AND Hamilton/Pulsar(and more than a few other people) had to wait until the parts and technology was available.

Tell you what: so this thread can hopefully die a respectible death, I am going to let you "win" - take your best shot kid, I'll give you the last word. 8)

barry8874506 11 bids 2 with the name little1up I only know this because I looked and clicked on the 11 bids . I gave you 4 modules, 1 working that I photographed working. The resistor has nothing to do with the battery(the voltage regulator he was one of if not the first to instal in the chip takes care of that) as you assumed and I suspect you actualy hooked power up in all the wrong places.Granted you know far better not to do something like that to probably every other digital, but this one is different.
4+5=9 any questions?
When I was trying to call the constantly busy # you gave me for several days,I began to wonder if you got the package and e-mailed you,a couple days latter you replied NO thanks and explained how you had already tore into one and reached all kinds of conclusions.THE ONE THAT WORKED WITH POWER ATTACHED YOU TOOK IT APON YOURSELF TO OPEN WITHOUT ever calling,to atleast confirm that you got the package. Then we were going to try again and it bothered you that I was busy that day.Nobody likes to be stereotyped and judged under a microscope when their doing something positive. You have exhibited knowlege about some things that you purchesed wich is an achievment that you need no representitive for.My representitive comment was meant as praise for you, because what I meant was you did it the hard way since there was no book or representitive to handle Q,s L.E.D wise at those companies. To some members and or previous Synchronar owners we are both kids. You talk like your generations older, but seven years is nothing so lets stop posting like defensive fools and grow up.

Howard, do you intend to comment / clarify the position regarding the legal ownership of the Synchronar name etc. This question is posted not with any malicious intent but out of genuine interest in the history of the company

Yes gjlelic the Synchronar™ is being used by me to continue the legacy and work to have it re- registered has been underway. My dad created the trademark and I certainly have exhibited a continuation of the name with the official site riehlsynchronar.com and with my email address while getting a few watches made and sold under that name

Synchronar™

thanks for the reply, if your plans come to fruition, do you plan to 1; remanufacture watches (as opposed to just assembling NOS until that stock is depleted)
2; just provide a repair service or
3; both of the above.
Will the the new company include your brothers or just you-thanks

Yes to all of the above guys, which is five things to do until the mk V masks can be made with all the drawings to it.
My brothers are not as interested in the continuation and would prefer to be bought out and or convince me sell the remaining inventory, drawings, proto types, trade secrets, etc
I was hopeing someone could work with the family by offering to do some of the above mentioned Remanufactured units, kits for build and seal yourself and so on.Lots of options and mysteries remain.
A few people have expressed some interest and I have made the offer to 4 people thus far.
One more option is to work with a current watch company with the assets to launch a larger scale release by completing the research and troubleshooting the MkV drawings(Something RWR was almost done with).
I will be loking to hire help next week,in the midst of moving

Here is the thread in question. It was through the help of another member that (TM) was branded at the end of Synchronar(TM).

Maybe it had something to do with Alt 0153 not permissable on the new setup? No direct blame on anyone,I just want it clear and corrected even though this is not exactly needed in my case.
