Warning about these watches for sale on Ebay

Post27 Aug 2007, 22:43

Lad's,

I'am sure everyones seen these NOS Compu Chron's on Ebay I've thought about buying one so I asked the seller what modules in them and can he post a picture of the insides...all I got was silence. So I emailed past buyers and asked them, they said the watch had the wrong module and the contacts were in the wrong places so wouldn't work.

A while back I remember seeing lots of these empty cases on Ebay very cheap because its hard next to impossible to get Hughes 25mm modules for them.
So unless you need a NOS case, BEWARE..!!!

Hum, on that note maybe I should ask him not to use my photos.

Wonder what kind of module he's got in them. I guess 15 quid could be ok if there's something working and remotely useful in there. Anyone got any idea?

Nice pics by the way Jeff (you should enquire as to your royalties...)

If they're using someone else's photos then personally I avoid them like the plague. Jeff's photo style are pretty unique. Of course the wonderful feedback system that protects us will show him up for the fraud he is M:)W:)M

On that note, does anyone else think that the LED market on ebay has become flooded with dealer types selling overpriced crap recently?

He started using them without my permission. I emailed him and stated (sarcastically) "Thanks for asking permission". He seemed friendly and apologized and I told him he could use them as long as I'm not.

I've tried asking but his silence is deafening, I've a sneaky suspicion its Commodore modules check back his Ebay buyers feedback and a well known USA Commodore module seller is there, but saying that Commodore modules are 27mm and the case is 25mm so they wouldn't fit. Who knows there could be anything in there.

I wonder why he won't post a picture of the insides... ;-)

It's infectious, I had someone email me via ebay today asking if I had a duff Fitron module and could he have it for an empty case to sell on.
