Wrong Module in P2

Post19 May 2008, 13:47

This appears to have the wrong module in it:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1972-PULSAR-STAI ... dZViewItem

It has a segment dispaly, and should be dot style.

Also the original receipt list this Astronout P2 at $287 in 1972. Isn't this extremely cheap for those days ? I would've thought it'd be much dearer back then.

Rgds,
Andrew.

: Wrong Module in P2

It looks pukka to me.

It's a bit hard to see as the photos aren't exactly sharp but it looks like a dot display in the 1.11 picture. Also I think that I can make out a light sensor under the display and some digit drivers above it which would suggest that it's got the rarer early P2 module in it.

According to the first inflation calculator I came across in a google search: what cost $287 in 1972 would cost $1454.27 in 2007. So not exactly a give away either.

So does it have the right P2 module in it or not?
