Aha !

I thought it might have been. Did you test any duff modules for dead crystals ?

I reckon I could just about repair to that level but not much beyond.

Cheers

I believe that all the ones offered as spares need something more than a new quartz crystal. The Trafalgar with the band did light up with the DOW display and at one stage I recall seeing all the digits light up, I suspect it has a fault on the setting circuit, the Armitron was full of green gunk inside but surprisingly after a clean up it did show some signs of life, the Synchronar I have re-tried under a light source and part of the third digit lit up which was different to what I seen first time around, the Pulsar has been looked at and the constant zero display is not due to a defective QC, the Optel one is unusual, it has an stamped Optel module, 2 button case, I stated that it had a 'sweet spot' for the date display but looking at the photo's I took for the listing I can see the module is a little out of line with the command button so maybe it just wants straightening.
I had built up a lot of these non runners plus other various bits and bobs and it was time to clear some out.

HI Bucko

Gotcha. Cross referencing your other post on the workbench I'm guessingee that you most likely already got the best out of your stock..

I need a Litonix module for a nice La Generale I have so I was watching the bandless one of these you had. Plus the Quasar and the Trafalgar (no band) - any info on these ?

Boy I'm getting greedy now..

Cheers

I guess from your previous post that when it comes to resurrecting old LED's that you are roughly at the same skill level as myself so if you are interested I would only recommend you purchase them for parts.
The Trafalgar is a nice shape but defunct, showing no signs of life and as stated it is also missing a command button.
The quasar case is in good condition, the band is tatty with plate loss, I can't remember getting any signs of life from this one either.
All the non workers have been described as for spare\repairs and I have done my best to describe the watches as accurately as possible. No 'untested' or 'might just need batteries' from me. ;-)

..if only.

That Litronix I have is really frustrating I swapped the crystal twice and it ran for a short time - yippee thinks I. Then nowt :-( .

I tried one last time but poor tools and worse skill meant I pulled a pad off the module. Then tried 'pulling' solder strands and only ending up melting the display magnifier - grrr.

I over it now (sort of) but it still means I need that module.

The search continues..

For the Quasar I have a spare module that might fit if its a Frontier..

Cheers

Sorry a Frontier module would not fit.

I think I am correct in saying that the original module is made by E. Gluck Corp the makers of Armitron, it is a 32mm module and check out the button configuration, command at 2 o'clock, set button at 11 o'clock.
