Citizen Round Calculator watch questions

I am excitedly waiting for the arrival of a Citizen Round Calulator watch from 1977 to my door. It is 42mm in diameter. My questions are will I need a stylus to depress the buttons? If yes does anyone have a source for a Pulsar Y 739 band with stylus? Also does anyone have a source for the setting instructions for this watch?

Great question. I was wondering the same thing. This is one of my favorite calculator watches. I also like the CompuChron/Hughes because it has big, non-depressed buttons that you don't need a stylus to use (a minty stainless one just went on eBay for a reasonable price). I look forward to finding out an answer to the stylus question. Requiring a stylus when you can use a fingertip or even a fingernail seems rather silly.

You CAN(just barely) use a fingertip. I have the other two items, possibly a whole band with stylus to sell(Pulsar LCD calc, not Citizen). They did not originally come with a stylus(in the clasp or otherwise) - it wasassummed you would use a ballpoint pen or such.


Darn, not finding my scan of the Citizen instructions, so I will have to rescan. Write me when you receive your watch.....you'll never figure out the setting sequence without the instructions. I've sold 2 of those, and each time the buyer said,"it won't set". They send it back and I have no problem....I go over fine points of the instructions and they get it.

What is supposed to be in these files?
I'm rather reluctant to download and open a pdf from an unknown source posted by a newly registered member more or less without comment - just as well as the long sought-after instructions it could be the latest Acrobat Reader exploit posted by a spam robot ...

I just took the plunge...... I'm at work and they have very good firewalls.
And if the firewalls don't work.. then I guess I'll just have to go home while the IT dept. sorts it out.

This links take you to a site that looks like the equivalent of Imageshack but for files, pdf. in particular. But when I tried to open the pdf. attachments on the screen it wouldn't work. Instead I was 'invited' to upgrade my access.... not free of charge of course.
Ah well.....
