Watch modules from Surplus Shed (buy at your own risk)

I recently purchased 10 of these items from Surplus Shed, http://www.surplusshed.com/pages/item/m4032.html

They look like LED modules manufactured for ladies sized watches. However, all I received were HEAVILY loaded with corrosion from the old, presumably original, batteries still included with these modules. Surplus Shed is a great place to find neat stuff and I was hoping to report some good news, but I would personally avoid these.

Update: I contacted Surplus Shed and they apologized and said they would send me some non-corroded modules. I'll let you know if any I receive that work and will follow up. I was very pleased by their response!

No, I haven't received any yet. I contacted Fred at SurplusShed about the delay a few days ago, but no reply. Will follow up again soon....

Good news! 7 of 12 replacement modules work, much thanks to Fred at Surplus Shed for sending them to me. 2 of the remaining 5 do "function", but some LED segments do not light up. The ones that work still came with small varying degrees of green colored corrosion on the battery side of the modules from 30+ old Union Carbide batteries (size 392 -- SR41?). The functioning modules light up with LED segments made up of tiny dots, very cool! Attached is a picture of the three *NON* functioning modules. Well, the one in the middle works, but some of the LED segments don't light up. The one on the far left is the worst of the three and is an example of what I initially received from Surplus Shed. Can anyone, identify the manufacturer of these modules? The quartz crystals have NDK stamped on them (Japan?). For the CHEAP price SS is selling them for, I encourage you to buy some of these modules, if you want/need the smaller 20mm size for ladies sized watch cases. I'm sure Fred will send the best one's out first, so your results may vary.
