Batteries for Sanyo Alarm Chrono Quartz Lithium?

Post28 Dec 2010, 17:30

Help! I need to find batteries for Sanyo Alarm Chrono Quartz Lithium
Water resistant 30 m

I have been searching in Sweden with the help from my watchmaker but no luck anywhere! It’s a round battery – very special apparently… Tried on my own to find on the internet as well but no luck.
Anyone who knows somewhere online? I’m desperate as I really like this watch..

If this is one of those Sanyos that use a CR736 then you are not going to find it anywhere- went out of production about 15 years ago. The work around is to use a pair of thin Silver Oxide cells taped together (can't remember the exact type number but if you go and search on the pocketcalculatorshow form there are quite a few threads about replacing this and other odd Sanyo cells).

Thanks for that information, too bad for me though. It's sounds like too big a maneuver for me :-(

Is there ANY other way to fix it?

Hi!

I had the same problem, googling I did find the following:

http://kenichiuji.exblog.jp/i21/2/

it is in perfect Japanish but if you scroll down you will find the solution
Old tom is explaining, there you see the right batteries.
I did it twice with two SANYO and both are working perfectly, very simple to put two batts one on top of the other and close the watch.

Good luck!

It's about three-fifths of the way down the page, dated 2007 03 01. Looks simple enough to me. You need two silver-oxide cells to get the proper 3V to run the watch. They are using two SR716SW cells.
