Funny how he has tons of items for sale, and yet he's managed to find somewhere completely different for making the photos for each sale. I don't get it, obviously at the prices he's selling stuff he's a scammer, but he's accepting Paypal for payment so surely buyers will be able to get their money back, unless maybe he plans on sending an empty package by registered post.. :-?

Very scary...did a whois search on the site, all private/hidden. They own 38-39 other sites. Some kind of convoluted and, apparently, fairly well designed scam. Hard to imagine just how they plan on pulling it off for any length of time. But I guess if you can keep replicating the basic crime online, having to switch games is a small price to pay for all the ill gained loot - for some people. I'm sure we are not the only genre that is being preyed upon. We just have to stay vigilant and avoid deals that seem to ridiculously good to be true.

I thought Paypal buyer protection was only available to Ebay sites (same Company after all). For all other sites I thought Paypal acted as Merchant credit/debit card processors with similar safeguards to all other Merchant card processors which may or, more usually, may not (especially for International transactions) extend to full refunds (depends on Country card processor is based in).

Paypal protection covers any transaction as long as the payment is not made via gift/personal payment. I bought some watches from a guy in China, a straight person to person deal, they never arrived, Paypal gave me a full refund.

Paypal's current practices: unless you have a copy of registered mail info that Paypal can check online for proof of maiing and of non-delivery(tracking peters out or ends at the wrong address), you don't get a refund. And even worse for sellers - Paypal only makes the payor (customer) whole, the seller has to collect from some other party such as insurance. The "rub" is that for foreign shipments, you can only insure an item for as much as you are declaring. Seems like someone working for the government is the real theft worry - take your pick, tax man or mail man. :x Personally I'll take my odds on the postal workers - I think most of them are honest. 8-)

If the seller doesn't have any proof of postage such as tracking Paypal will instantly find in favour of the buyer, there are cases of people buying multiple items of the same type from eBay, such as car parts, from sellers who use standard post, and they make a claim for none receipt of goods on every item they buy. There was a member on another forum I use that got scammed this way, the buyer had several feedbacks from sellers all saying the same thing, Paypal took no notice of this and refunded the scammer as there was no proof of postage.

.....of course, there are the scammers who are buyer and seller working together, to bilk Paypal on these "non-delivery" claims. But Paypal is a lot harder to fool than us end users, with all their banking and personal verification resources. Guess that makes them big game for scammers. :-P

I registered on iOffer with the intention of sending a message to the seller to ask him questions related to this watch, when I attempted to ask the question I received the message

"No contact information is allowed at this point. Once you come to an agreement we will release the seller's information."

So you have to agree to make a purchase before asking a question
