FOR SALE 14k LE #522 1977 Pulsar PRM.

Post17 Apr 2012, 23:37

I thought i would offer this super rare piece to the collectors before i put it on eBay.

Accoring to documentation 125 where made in 1977. 14k Solid gold Pulse time. One of only two i have ever seen in original double box with papers. In my 15 years of collecting i have noted 7 in collectors hands.
I don't think this Pulsar has ever been worn, amazing condition. Works like a dream, even though Pulsar never meant it as a medical device im Pulsating at 86 bpm.
Collectors know how rare this watch is. Will you ever find another like this, maybe if you are willing to wait a decade.

Please PM me if you are interested. I will email a detailed description with more pictures if needed and the price.

Wow! rare it is ,beautiful it is not. This would be one for the die hard collector,it kind of makes you think that Pulsar had run out of ideas, and was pretty desperate by the late 70s on trying to sustain interest in the Led format.
What were they thinking when they put this into production? and in gold? Perhaps stainless would have suited it better?
Jimmy Savile in his track suit would have loved this one.
I think ,as part of using the "for sale" section you need to list the price. :?:

It was one of the later models, came out April 1977 (exact date courtesy 'oldpulsar') the green Dress was introduced around the same time and both represented Pulsar's last ditched attempt to save the LED watch from dying on it's arse (ass ;-) ).

Giving it a second look and putting to one side my appreciation of the prestige of the watch I think that you have a point, the finger pad doesn't contrast so well with the gold colour and the SS version does look aesthetically more pleasing in comparison IMO however if I had the funds available this wouldn't distract me from making a purchase fugly or not it is still a very special watch and it would still take pride of place in any collection - I wouldn't be able to part with it if I owned it!

Actually the Pulse has the most in common with the Touch that is in the Sport, construction wise. A fair number of exposed wire-bonds on underside of module.
Last gold, working, boxed one went fairly close to $8k, afaikr.
