Seiko M154-4019 question

[size=150]I found this nice Seiko on a pile of junk for very cheap not working, It was in bad state, all gummy up like
somebody emptied a can of soda on it and the glass all scratched up. I took it home and it was a pain to open
due to all the dirt build up. To my surprise the inside was clean, the seals did their job well and an old Renata batterie
still holding its innards, one more reazon to use good quality batteries. A new batterie and the watch came to life.
look like an easy refinish to me. the only problem is the bluish, reddish tint decoloration on the LC display,
If you look straigh at it you hardly see it, but on an angle is very noticeable. Is this damage done on the LC or the
reflector? I don't want to take things appart and ruin a good module. but if the problem is the reflector is woth
a try. I wonder if is posible to change color on the reflector, like a greenish of gold tone, that will be nice, does anybody done somethinglike that?

The LCD panel has a polarized film. As the film degrades the rainbow effect increases. Some here have posted a repair to the LCD panel by removing and replacing the film. Do a search Of LCD and polarize film.

That be the way, was my first digital watch. It was a christmas present back in 77

Thanks Geoff, I checked the old treads, I will think about doing the polarizer replament, is all the wacht need to be
almost pristine. I never thought i will be interested on LCDs but this Seikos are good looking. I'm looking for my next one.
