Thats a great score Kasper. I'm really interested to see what arrives. I have SS memomaster here but it doesnt look anything like yours. It looks like it houses the 1632 module, well the button set seems right but I'm not sure about the lcd panel it massive in comparison. Great find.

I've never seen a Memomaster like this before :-?
The 1632 module does have a much thinner LCD, and also has an integrated speaker at the top.

The glass at the front looks a bit funny too, with the black vertical lines on each side. Almost like a memomaster crystal has been cut in half horizontally, and a clear piece of glass spliced in to separate them. Maybe a prototype ?

ok the first pictures !!!

the small ring was sitting loose..i have no idea that it has to be..and i don't know if it's the correct batt...the backcase is
sitting a bit loose to!

Image

Not working at the moment.

observations:

it's a womans watch
it has no watertight ring
20 micron gold
it came with a batt in it that was flat.
i can not see any leaking from the batt.
it says 1637 on the backplate (outside)
it says 20 micron plaque or, omega watch&co, swiss made
LL 582 0002

the light works but no digits...maybe i have to start it but i have no idea at the moment.
maybe i have to leave it a bit lying around for a few days with the batt in and let the hocus pokus do it's job :-D

update : while i'm typing suddenly the digits starts

Image

i can see the time/date..alarm and a timer?

but everythime i put the back on it..the digits dissapair..so there must be a problem with the speaker. its sits loose...and i can see a little dent
at the side off the speaker on the backplate...that must be the problem.

I Think thats what threw me kasper. The size, i have made the same mistake before with an Omega womens watch I didnt recognize. If you dont mind send me some photos when she fires up, sometimes a little heat from a hairdryer gives them a reminder of what they should be doing.

being of a sort of logical mindset, i would start off by aligning the gap in the wafer washer with the gap on the mov't plate and close it up and see if anything happens. or have you already tried that? peter

yes tried it..the problem is that the speaker is sitting loose so it turn in the backplate and the litte half ring is also loose. This is all due to someone has tried to open the watch at the speaker side and damage the backplate. It don't sit tight anymore.
So i have to be sure that the speaker is sitting correct before i seal the backplate with some soft silicon..pffff not easy :-D

that little arrow on the speaker may be a clue. could it possibly be that it is supposed to point to the contact on the mov't? also, when the wafer washer is in place does that secure the looseness of the speaker? are the 2 ends of the gap on the washer supposed to touch the 2 solder points on the speaker? just my 2 cents worth. by the way, really neat watch. too bad it is not men's size. peter

Amazing that this watch doesn't crop up on the internet. I suppose ladies watches are less interesting to most collectors, although much rarer I think.

From what I can see, the 2 solder points on the piezo are where connectivity should be. One connects to the outer gold ring, the other to the inner gold ring. The outer gold ring looks like it connects to the caseback via the washer. The inner ring looks like it should connect to the tang on the module when the casback is closed.

Does the piezo rotate around that centre gold rivet(?) ?. I'd try to rotate it so that the tang touches the inner ring when you close it. If it's rotated incorrectly, the tang could be touching the outer ring, which would be basically shorting the speaker output of the module (which may be why it shuts down). You could try putting some tape on the tang and closing the caseback to see if the module still runs.

i just boxed the watch for a later time (winter) tried everything..i even took the whole watch apart..after that the lcd still popping up and goes away after awhile.
I'm quiet sure it has something todo with the piezo connectivity. It was sitting loose in its container..and i heard it just ones sounding so it works. But as the lcd pops up and goes back away it's difficult to check it.
After 2 evening trying, i've been getting nerveous (sweat, trembling) :-D so it's time to put it away for a while and try again later.

thx all for the help and i'm pretty sure i can fix it.

Yeah it's a real gem and good quality interiors.
some extra picture for the library.

Smartest move you will ever make. You will find that some of the ones that were totally frustrating now will be easier fixes at the right time and as your knowledge base increases. Winter, when all is calm and you are feeling very happy to be in a warm house with something to stimulate your mind. 8-)

Hey Kasper, I also fell in the "it looks like a man's watch and I want it" trap.

After Kasper reminded me (sorry  ) I quickly took a picture, here it is for you all to see :)

Tissot F1 opened:
(I don't think the watch ever has been altered so this should be the original situation)
Image

Hmm, that little metal ring isn't present with my watch, looking closer at your pictures Kasper it seems you might create a short-cut between the speaker terminals using that ring?

Does the bender(piezo) fall out of the back case? If so maybe the ring fits in the groove around the mid section of the bender and this then snaps into the case.

Also maybe the bender is a spacer and it fits in the case before you place the bender in position.

Cheers, geoff

What about the blue plastic ring in the battery holder that seems to be missing. Could it be causing a short?

i have no idea how to get the bender with the piezo in the backplate...and yes it falls out.
I just cliped it around the piezo (there is a small groove) but it just lay loose on top of the holder. and there is space underneath...but no idea how to get both in...do i need to force it a bit?

Yes Adam..i just noticed the blue ring. Have to examen that to :-D
