Phasar 2000 LCD, who made this, Seiko?

Post31 Oct 2012, 20:28

I really like this watch, is well made, big digits and good contrast, all SS and robust.
Srew caseback with battery hatch just like Seiko. I wonder if Seiko had something to do with it, knowing Sears to outsource all its watches.
and at one time took pride offering the best products. It took me 2 identical watches to complete one. I'm going to wear it all day.

I think seiko did make these, but don't quote me on that. ;)

I would say the watch you have is, best described as genius in its simplicity.

Very nice.

Not sure about this one as the module reminded me of some sensors I have had. i have certainly had rebranded Seiko modules in the Phasar models. Have a look at the ones on the digitalwatchlibrary.com site. I also have some more to list when I get time.

It look similar but not the same see the gap in the digits of the one on the phasar. The bell is really unusual as it has no gap, cant remember seeing that before. I think the scew back back was copying the Seikos(even the way the lettering is added just like any of the A series models) maybe to improve water resistance.

It was bad timing of fast shutter speed but threre are comas in bewteen the digits separating hours and minutes, but look a the shape.

Hi there,

There's a Sensor on Ebay in a watch lot that is exactly like this one. Perhaps it's made by Sensor. I just got one of these working last week. :-) The module doesn't look like a Seiko to me. They usually have screens that are held in place with brackets and tiny screws. This one had a different construction. I'm missing the battery cover on mine though. You wouldn't happen to have an extra battery cover?

I'm really diggin' these Phasars. I've got a few now. They are usually well made and look cool. This one is certainly chunky and funky.

Cheers,
Shawn
