Casio module 108

Hi friend...i have a pretty casio with module 108 inside,the watch works well but i have one problem. when i push the button light the watch reset to 12.00,the light doesn't work.I try to clean all the module without any success and the problem remain....
Same thing for the alarm and the signal every hour...when they should be start the watch reset the time to 12.00
I need help about this strange problem,could be a short on the board?

If i try to do the sound demonstration pressing simultaneosly the 2 buttons (as the manual say) the watch turn off....then if i want lights up the watch i must push the button light

Strange behavior
I had a similar problem with the 108 module, when i pressed the lightbutton, the display would go off, and there was a brand new battery installed.
The problem was the battery, although it was new it didn't have the strength to power the watch properly.
I don't know if that is your problem as well, but i found out that these modules are sensitive to batteries that don't deliver enough power.
I bought a professional varta battery for my W-250 marlin (108 module), and had no problems anymore.

PS. is the right battery installed (CR2320)? , sometimes people install a CR2016 because they don't know what to intall. This can give problems too.

the battery is an brand new 2016,not a big brand for sure...the watch is in mint condition and i hate to see this casio works with this defect....overall is a great watch.
so you advice me to use another battery?
in my opinion there's a short...but i could try to install a new cell
Any other tips are welcome....

I change the battery with a new one and the watch works very well!!!!!!

Should be made in 1980....or 1981...do you have any info about it?
Probably the module was used in early Casio from 1979

Here a very similar watch...so this one is from 1980 for sure...in the back is coated...the strap is the same...also the module (83 and 108 are identical)

Yes, 1980 is about the right year for this watch.
The W-250 that i have is from 1981, i think these modules were made between 1979 and 1982.
My watch has the same numbers . i already thought it looked very similar.
