battery instead of capacitor ?

Post15 Oct 2013, 13:09

This is my 2nd post. Didn't get a reply so not sure if its in the correct section yet.

I have a Seiko Kinetic (it charges up a 'capacitor' with movement)

I took the back off the watch myself, and I can see that the bearing housing for the weight has broken. This is why it doesn't work and what is making a noise when I shake it.

My Question : Can I remove the weight and capacitor and put a battery in so that it becomes a 'normal' battery watch, as in, forget the charging bit ?

Watch = 5J32_0AE0 battery = Panasonic MT920

Thanks

when I google "panasonic MT920 voltage" I can see that it's working voltage is 1,5 volt. So it would work if you place a battery of the same size. (I think I would try to find a junker for the parts you need to make it a working kinetic again)
