restoring a Seiko 0634-5019

Hello everybody,

I have a few 0634-5019's in my collection and this one is my latest. Its the first one of which I decided to give a face lift.
The case design is a bit complicated with its tight brushes on a difficult angle and its polished parts. I had a though about it, pictured it out ,the right grains for its brushes etc, and gave it a go.

As I write I am assembling the watch, but these are the first before and after results of the case after a few hours. If im able to complete it tonight I will post a final result

In my Seiko 0634 5019 i have repainted the band using a special paint used to burnish the gun...so now it's black as the outer space...

very nicely done..btw is this the original brushes or did you do your own style?

@Kasper: I think the brush I re-applied is a bit more fine as the original. I used grain 1500 as I thought it would make the best match. But I think it should have been 1200 (although the grain differs with different brands I learned, its always a bit testing). This one has a bit more of a satin look.
As im a perfectionist I might redo it with another grain some day.. but for now im very happy with the result

@Simone; That's very interesting what you said about the painting of the bracelet. What brand/type of paint do you use for this? Does it dry in cold air or do you dry in an oven? And, most important; does it stick to the metal after wearing the watch intensive. A great tip!

i don't remember now the brand of the paint ...it's a special paint for army...maybe you can try to ask in your local army store...

I'm interested in that paint as well. You can always apply a soft brush to give it a mat finish.
