Green & Blue Pulsar Frankenstein Watches For Sale

Post03 Apr 2014, 21:48

Both my Pulsar Frankenstein watches have died and as I am not gifted enough to repair or replace the modules I have decided to offer them for sale on the forum so if you fancy a project or a tinker this might be of interest to you.

One of the watches has the original bracelet which whilst not in the best of shapes it is still functional, the other watch has a replacement (new) leather band, I will also include the original Pulsar glass for both watches should you decide to restore them to their original state.

The modules fitted are from the modern OLED watches and they are as I received them from the ex-forum member (Geoff Thomas) who made them up for me, including all the parts used to make the original conversion e.g both read switches, piezo plates fitted to case back etc etc.

The case back rings are a little crossed threaded but do hold enough to secure the case back in position.

I have done my best to describe them but please view the photo's as I might have missed something that is important to you, if you have any further questions please feel free to PM me.

Did you notice the sticker on the back of the battery photographed above, it's says to use metal tweezers and quickly touch the contact points after a battery change, both modules have these contact points but only one of the modules has the instructions to do this, did you try touching the contact points on your module?

I tried it and it did not work for me but I know others on the forum who have also created this Pulsar Frankenstein watch still have working watches so maybe not all the OLED modules are unreliable.

I want the blue one! Keep the oled module, and original glass! It looks great the way it is :-D
I would install the original module, which I have ;-)
Red digits through blue should still be visible.

That only works if the module worked and put new batt in. Mine started to dim slowly till you see nothing anymore. Even tried a brand new batt just to be sure...nothing.

Is it just the display that gives up the ghost? Sorry Kasper no pun intended.
If so, Do you think they could be sourced from China to fix em?

The listing ends tomorrow, get ya bids in. ;-)

If anyone is interested in replacing the module I also notice there is a used condition 'Geneva' donor watch up for auction .. ... ... .. item number 221414674767, both the Frankenstein watches I am offering have all the other parts that you would need to convert the donor module.

A photo of the watch working with the OLED module . ... ..
