A Seiko H259 with some problems

Post21 Apr 2014, 20:41

Hi guys,

I've recently bought a beautiful Seiko H259 with some working problems.

In fact, inserting a new battery, the digital part works perfectly, but the analogue part works some seconds and then immediately stops.

What i have to do? I hope not to have to change the entire module....

Thanks

Strange behavior: the coil seems OK, as it runs. A well as its motor. But how can you tell that the analog watch 'runs for a few seconds' , as it doesn't have a seconds hand?

sounds like a troublesome gear train

too fiddly to dismantle and repair, swap it out with a working train from a known parts watch and see how you go

My watchmaker said that the analog part seemed to move just a little bit and then it immediately stopped :-(.

Also the alarm works and since my watchmaker didn't know how to stop it, he removed the battery to not discharge it....

Unfortunately I havn't got any tool to do some works by myself :bang:....I have to provide in this way!

you need a demagnetiser to try and coax the hands round - this might help free up the movent

you could always send it to me with your 0624 and I can try it for you ?
