Omega Speedmaster Professional LCD

Post15 May 2014, 00:06

This just arrived today. The 1st LCD version which used the moonwatch style case with the 1620 LCD movement.

I'm quite impressed with the chrono functionality which allows you to operate the chrono from the main time mode without going into the chrono mode.

Image

I'll do a movie of it's functions one day soon.

Nice watch.

The thing I like most about the 1620 module is that the lap function gives a real lap time... press the lap button and it starts to time again from zero, while displaying the (last) lap time just long enough to copy it down (7 seconds).

Anyone know of other chrono modules that work like this?

It has got some novel chrono features, like being able to start and stop it without being in the chrono display mode.

Its nice to accessorize the watch with a car like that. A full body shot would indeed be nice

That's a fantastic car. Have you restored it?

I restore a bike every once in a while. This is my Suzuki GT500, 1977, one of my favorites. A two stroke two cylinder 500cc, 0-100 in 3.6 seconds (with my weight ;) )

I'm still riding it every now and then, when the sun shines and the roads are dry. Off course while wearing one of my Seiko's :!:

Well, were a bit on off topic (watches), but id say: bring on your classic cars and bikes :grin1:

Love the Suzuki! Must be a great power delivery from the 2 stroke 500.

I drive a Toyota - not vintage but a classic still. The last sports car Toyota made before emissions killed the line.

Of course they now have the GT range...

I was once hitch-hiking up from Sicily to the UK around 1990, got a lift from just below Strasbourg up to Koln in a Fiat 500 Abarth - driver was a total Abarth freak, he loved the car and everything about it. I have to say despite the cramped fit, it was a great little car. A pity Fiat have ruined the memory imo.

PS - No, wheel is not factory. In that pic it's on the test drive - looks like this now:

Lovely - air cooled presumably?

I had one a while back. I found the seats really comfortable and it was a car with such character. I only sold it because reverse gear was broken.

That speedmaster is a must have! I lost in a bidding war for one, the case design is iconic!

I do have a 186.0003 case which was non working and cost 90 Canadian dollars. Corrosion in the battery hatch had broken a battery tab. Using a fiberglass pen and some DeOxit gold plus a really quick cleaning and some tin foil proved the module works so yeah!

Still, looking for a speedmaster pro case like yours!

My 1974 celica purchased in 1975 and under going a ground up restoration, not a Lamborghini but it is my first car. What is with us and restorations?

Here it is today with the body work finished, zero rust, epoxy sealed, lead work, no bondo or putty. Now to find time to fill it with the rebuilt clock and NOS parts I have collected over the years.

Image

Image

The trunk detail down to the refinished factory welds, all new metal to the left and right of the tub. Has to be done to better then factory for me!

Image

Here it is in 75,

Image

And in 2005 when I took it off the road for a complete resto at 330,000 miles!

Image

The engine instruments before the Reno. It will be light burled walnut (real veneer) all the way through to the back deck.

Image

Oh and the clock is electrodynamic with balance, love the ticking!

Cheers, Geoff

P.s. Any one got a spare speedmaster case with no movement?
