Seiko A259-5019

Post27 Jun 2014, 20:59

Hi my friends....here to show you my latest restoration.
I found this watch in a jewelery's drawer two months ago in a very bad condition but with a working module with a very low sound alarm ~:(
Case and crystal were in a stinking conditions with a lot of scratches like a watch after a war...the original band unfortunatly was missing.
So i polish entire case and I changed the glass with a non original....i lubricate all the pusher button and i fixed the band with a Seiko M354 one,a good matching in my opinion in the meanwhile...(hoping to find an original one)
The dial is marked Seiko A259-5010 and the caseback A259-5019,so strange.....
I also change the speaker so now the alarm is very loud!!!!

Enjoy.....

Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable
Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way

A fine restoration Simone, especially considering you were able to replace the crystal by a perfectly matching non-Seiko sample. Well done!
