No idea what is in it. If I win it I'll know. Watch it turn out to be a Hughes module or a National semi-conductor. Just think where something like this might go with the ad written with a different emphasis,"Working Hughes LED module - free watch case to winner".

How about a guess the module sweepstake? I reckon it's a litronix stand alone "runs out of the case" job. That button looks plastic to me.

Well, if it's a Litronix module, I'll be over f'n joyed - I've got at least one really nice Litronix case that needs guts. I'm really hoping to start putting some watches up on my new site starting today(got photos of the first 50 some pieces in the camera). I have been fixing away and look forward to releasing a bunch of these back to the LED fans who don't care to tinker. Kind of like a watch "catch & release" program(catch & release is a fishing term- you just catch them for the sport and then let them go. 8. Yeah, I don't get it either ) .

Mystery solved: It's a cheap plastic case, containing a 25mm 1/3(function/set) module that has a copper sheet glued to the front of the module...this copper sheet has two tabs that are bent to go between the plastic buttons and the module contacts. A third long tab crosses both batteries. A p.o.s. with no trimmer, but it miraculously works despite the ungodly amount of corrosion. And now we know!! And let's not under-rate the value of the flawless red acrylic screen I gleaned from this find.

Woah! I've got one of those modules in a plastic Kaltron by Rodania but It's missing the copper connector (Which might explain why it doesn't work...) It truely is like something out of a Christmas cracker.

Right. Drink beer. Take scissors to beer can. Fix cheapo module.

Oh great, now I feel guilty for not having smashed the copper piece flat so I could scan you a template! Personally, I set the module aside for some lucky lady's watch....some of those trimmer-less modules keep "respectible"(IMO) time(+/- 1 minute a month).

BTW: The seller has informed me he has more. Lord, have mercy!!

It's actually not made by Kaltron. Like most watch manufactures, they didn't make their modules. They didn't even know how to get their Noryl case watches to work with the NSC modules that they used before switching to this one. :)

Yeah, this one isn't a Kaltron...just looks a lot like one. Some of the Tel-Art modules are virtually identical too. All compliments of Hong Kong.

I'm gonna try to take some pictures of restorations partly to show people that their scratched crystals can be brought back to life. I have another watch with some inlays in the front that I am hoping to replace with something a bit more exotic.

The tank(military item) was at a war memorial park in a little town...I couldn't resist, what with the dog having that white on his chest that almost matches a military star.....plus, the US. Marines unofficial mascot is the bulldog. My little guy was probably thinking,"gee, this is cold on the nuts(bullocks)".

Yeah, I'm an old fart(still, was able to knock back the missus properly before the crack of dawn today, so I'm apparently not feeling TOO old - HAH!) 8)

thanks Ed for ending the agony of this watch from Tacobeller's auction.
I think it was being relisted more than a 100 times.
I even emailed the seller once trying to explain how to price it and save on neverending eBay fees but he only replied:
"thanks for the helpful information, god bless you"
... and nothing changed in his auctions :)))

[Ed comments Unfortunately, he has a case(144) of those fugly things....and the module is a piece of sh#t. ]
