That's true, they are too thin. Its the only suitable recharcheable cell I was able to find matching solar Seiko's, Citizens and some other solar powered vintage watches with the same size/diameter cells. I try to make a reliable workaround with respect to the integrity of the movement and case. They work very fine, but I learned that these older solar watches really need daily usage and thus charge time. Initial charge often takes 16 hours+ in the windowsill, and a discharge only takes 3 to 5 x 24h depending on the solar cells.
These days I disable the solar panel connection and use alternative normal cells, although I regret that its the outcome..
